Kling, Naqvi re-elected to Health District Board

Celeste Holder Kling and H. Faraz Naqvi have been re-elected to three-year terms on the board of directors for the Health District of Northern Larimer County.

Eight candidates ran for two seats on the Health District board. A total of 1,998 ballots were cast in the special district election. Preliminary results are:

H. Faraz Naqvi, 54, is a physician and businessperson. Celeste Holder Kling, 62, is an attorney and mediator. Both are from Fort Collins.

The re-elected members will be sworn in at the May 26 regular board meeting.

The Health District is governed by a five-member board of directors. Members serve staggered terms and are elected at-large from the community. Elections are held every two years.

Colorado is transitioning to a new odd-year schedule for special-district elections, and board members elected in this and the 2022 election will have three-year terms. The new election schedule will start in 2023, at which time terms of office for newly elected members will revert to four years.

The Health District is a special district that provides residents of northern Larimer County with dental, mental health, preventive health, and advance care planning services, in addition to connecting people to more affordable health insurance and prescription options.
