Health District analyzes health policy

The Health District takes a big picture approach to local health. This includes considering how local, state, and national policies may impact the health of district residents.

Every year, the Health District tracks and analyzes certain health-related bills and policies. Most of these are bills introduced in the Colorado General Assembly during the legislative session that runs January to May.

Based on that input, the Health District’s Board of Directors may support or oppose bills it thinks may impact the health of local residents. It also may instruct staff to communicate its position to local legislators.
