Cooking Classes
Want to learn more about healthy
cooking ? Want to "try before you buy?" With Health
District cooking classes, you'll learn how to prepare healthy new food
choices. You'll also sample dishes prepared in class and leave with several
recipes to try at home. Classes are held
at the Health District teaching kitchen, 120 Bristlecone Drive in Fort
Collins, and taught by a registered dietitian.

Classes fill quickly, and prepayment is required to guarantee a seat.

Valentine's Day conjures up visions of
rich desserts and boxes of chocolates. February is also American Heart
Month. We're going to prove that heart health and delicious sweets can
peacefully coexist as we make and enjoy some luscious and good-for-you
desserts. Yes, there will be chocolate! Cost is $10 per person. Register
by Feb. 9.
Fight Fire with Food

Chronic, low-grade inflammation is
suspected to be the underlying cause of a wide range of medical
conditions, including heart disease, cancer and Alzheimer's disease.
What you eat (and how you cook it) can
either aggravate inflammation or help squelch it. Learn which foods,
cooking practices and lifestyle choices can cause tissue-damaging
inflammation and which can reduce inflammation. Cost is $10 per person. Register by
March 9.
