The Health District of Northern Larimer County has been meeting local health care needs since 1960. Today they provide dental, mental health, prescription assistance, health insurance assistance, quit tobacco, healthy heart, and advance planning services to the residents of northern Larimer County. They also work with other organizations and individuals to assess and plan for other community improvements in health services to better meet the health care needs of our community. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, they have been providing COVID vaccinations, assisting in providing shelter for those experiencing homelessness who need a place to isolate/recover or quarantine, and more.

The Health District is a public agency authorized under Colorado State Statutes to establish and operate facilities providing health (and personal) care services. Its mission is to enhance the health of the community. The role of the Executive Director is to lead the organization, implementing direction and policies set by the Board of Directors, assuring the provision of quality services, and working with others on priority community health service improvements.

It is important to note that while the Health District values its partnership with the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment (Health Department) in meeting the needs of the community, the Health Department is a different entity than our organization, the Health District.
