Health District sign

The Health District of Northern Larimer County is accepting applications to fill a midterm vacancy on its board of directors.

The Health District is governed by a five-person, publicly elected board of directors whose members serve staggered terms.

Due to the upcoming resignation of board member Faraz Naqvi, there will be a vacancy on the board. The candidate selected will be appointed by the board of directors to serve from appointment until May 2022, when the position is up for public re-election.

Candidates must be an eligible elector of the district. An eligible elector is someone who is:

  • a U.S. citizen, aged 18 years or older;
  • registered to vote in Colorado; and
  • a resident of the boundaries of the district, or
  • who owns (or whose spouse or civil union partner owns) taxable real or personal property (or is obligated to pay taxes under a contract to purchase taxable property) situated within the boundaries of the Health District. The Health District boundaries encompass the northern two-thirds of Larimer County. A map of district boundaries is available at healthdistrict.org/map.

The Health District values diversity, and submissions are welcome from a broad range of candidates.

Links to the Board Candidate Packet and the Application Form for consideration can be found on the Health District's Board of Directors page at healthdistrict.org/board. Interested persons also can call 970-224-5209 to have an application packet sent to them or to schedule an appointment to pick up a packet at the Health District office at 120 Bristlecone Drive, Fort Collins.

Completed applications must be received no later than 5 p.m., March 11, 2021, to be considered. The board will review all applications, may choose some candidates for interviews, and will select one person to fill the vacancy until the election in May 2022.

The Health District is a public agency that provides residents of northern Larimer County with dental, mental health, preventive health, and advance care planning services, in addition to connecting people to more affordable health insurance and prescription options.
