The Health District is a special district, authorized under Colorado State Statutes to establish and operate facilities providing health services. The Mission of the Health District is to enhance the health of the community by identifying and filling gaps in health services.

The Executive Director reports to an elected board and manages an organization of approximately 125 employees and a budget of $16,000,000. The Executive Director leads a dynamic local public organization providing a unique mix of prevention and health services, including a low-cost dental clinic, mental health services, healthcare access counseling, tobacco cessation, and prescription assistance. The Executive Director fosters partnerships among other organizations and drives a culture in which the Health District is an instrument and catalyst for change in the community. The district also performs research, needs assessments, policy development, and community planning that is responsive to evolving community health needs, particularly barriers to health-care access. The organization is committed to improved health equity in a variety of ways, including but not limited to focusing on diversity, inclusion, and reducing racism. The position provides positive, effective leadership to the Board, staff, and community.
