Thank you for your interest in the Health District!

We are a public agency of approximately 100 employees. As Health District employees, we are committed to consistent quality, accountability, integrity, respect and cultural sensitivity in our daily contacts with both external and internal customers.

Here are a few specifics about the hiring process:

  • We post open positions as they occur, and advertise in the Fort Collins Coloradoan newspaper on Wednesdays and Sundays and elsewhere as needed.

  • You may submit one letter of interest and resume per posted position.

  • We are unable to hold application materials for future openings or to accept incomplete materials.

  • If you would like to know the status of a search, please contact the search coordinator at the Health District.

Application materials are forwarded to a search committee, which selects candidates to interview.  A formal employment application form will be sent to all candidates to be interviewed. The applicant must complete the form and bring it to the interview. People who do not receive a call for an interview are encouraged to continue applying for other open positions that they are interested in and meet the qualifications for. Candidates will be notified by letter both when application materials are received and when the search outcome is final.

Following the interviews, the search committee identifies the top candidate so that Human Resources (HR) can start the pre-employment process of criminal background checks and reference contacts.  The time-frame for the pre-employment process can depend on various factors, such as return phone calls from references and processing time for background checks.

Once the pre-employment process is complete, the hiring manager contacts the candidate to offer the position. A letter of employment confirming details of the hire is then given to the candidate. A new employee orientation is scheduled within the first week of employment.

Benefits

The Health District offers medical insurance, dental insurance, long-term disability insurance and life insurance to eligible employees. We also offer a 125 Flexible Spending Account, Pension Plan and Deferred Compensation Program to eligible employees.

Time off with pay is available for employees to use as they choose for vacation, sick leave, dependent sick leave, or other personal needs.

Thank you for your interest in joining the Health District team, and we wish you success in your job search!
