Why are you running for the Health District board of directors?

I have been involved in healthcare for over 25 years and want to share my knowledge and experience to benefit our community.

What special skills or qualifications will you bring to the board?

I have a profound understanding of the delivery, marketing, and costs of healthcare products as a result of specialized training at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and the Tucks School of Business at Dartmouth College. I focus on strengths to stimulate group excellence. I have strong organizational skills along with flexibility to complement this ability. I am committed to stable values such as honesty and loyalty and have an extremely strong work ethic. Last, I excel in working with groups and foster a “team” attitude towards achieving goals.

What do you hope to accomplish?

In my view, the most effective method for improving overall health is through preventive action. I have a strong sense of cost/benefit ratio. It would be my goal to maximize the benefits of services offered through the health district, and to lower the costs of healthcare for everyone.

What is the most pressing health-related issue facing our community?

How can we deliver healthcare services that are affordable, and that deliver positive outcomes? How can we affect behavioral changes our community that will reduce preventable chronic diseases? What can we do to help those with mental health issues receive timely, effective treatments?
