It may seem hard to believe that only a few years ago, the Internet was a relatively new phenomenon. As late as 1996, college students and businesses were Net savvy, but the average American was only beginning to grasp the meaning of URL, http and the world wide web.

Turning to the Internet for answers to health-related questions, at that time, was rare.

But even in 1996, some creative organizations were beginning to tap the potential of this new medium. InteliHealth became a web presence that year, and since then, has become a leader in up-to-date health information for both consumers and professionals alike.

about intelihealth

What will you find when you visit InteliHealth? A little bit of everything. Need a better understanding of that new medication prescribed by your physician? Check out the drug search feature. Have a chronic health condition or interested in information specific to men's and women's health? You'll find a comprehensive list of topics devoted to each of those areas. The Healthy Living section offers a mix of options, including risk assessments, workplace health, tips on taking good care of your body and special reports. There is also a delightful interactive option.

One of the most helpful features available is InteliHealth Connect, a daily e-mail bulletin containing links to articles about breaking health news. The bulletin is free, requiring only that you visit the site long enough to register for the service.

All information on InteliHealth is reviewed and approved by Johns Hopkins. In addition, more than 150 healthcare organizations contribute to InteliHealth, including the National Institutes of Health.
