Struggling to pay prescriptions? Program helps local uninsured |
| The
Health District’s Prescription Assistance program is accepting new
clients. The service is open to Health District residents (northern Larimer County) as well as residents in other areas of the county whose physicians are affiliated with Poudre Valley Health System. The program serves people who do not have insurance for prescriptions and meet household income guidelines. A phone call to the Prescription Assistance program at 416-6519 is the first step to finding out if a person qualifies for the program. A Health District staff member will ask for a person’s address, income and medications. If he or she appears to meet program guidelines, staff will help with completing the application and determine what assistance is best. The program offers two types of help:
In 2006, the Health District provided $2.4
million in donated, discounted and Health District-purchased prescriptions
to the community. |
