TOPIC: Health District receives immunization grant

The Health District received a $45,000 grant in January from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to help improve local use of the state’s immunization registry. The goal of the grant is to increase participation of Larimer County healthcare providers in the Colorado Immunization Information System, an online system that allows providers to keep better track of their patients’ immunization records and make sure they receive necessary shots on time.

The grant will supply some providers with software and hardware in order to connect electronically to state registry. In addition, Health District staff will conduct outreach, enrollment and training for clinics in the county.
